Çamlık Open Air and Train Museum | Izmir Selcuk Transfer
The open-air steam locomotive museum is approximately 7 km from the district of Izmir, Selcuk. This museum has one of Turkey's largest railway museum and Europe's largest steam engine collection. Camlik Open Air Museum started its arrangements as a museum in 1991 and was fully completed in 1997. The museum is located a few minutes from Ephesus Ruins. It is located in the facility of Old Camlik Station, which is no longer used due to the reorganization of the İzmir-Aydın mainline. Camlik Station is Turkey's oldest line on the former ORC line.
In the museum, there is an exhibition room with pictures of Atatürk's arrival with the White Train and Camlik, 30 steam locomotives, 2 locomotives belonging to the British, 1 locomotive dating back to the Hittites and a White Wagon dating from 1943. There is also a 900 m long tunnel from the 1850s that passes around the museum.
The museum is open to visitors every day. Working hours are between 09:00 and 18:00. Ruins of Ephesus, Virgin Mary's House tourist arrivals due to its location close to places like Camlik Open Air Museum's conduct the visit.
