Kusadasi is located of Turkey's Aegean coast in Aydin. It is a resort town in the province. The main sector of Kusadasi, which is 95 km away from İzmir, is tourism. The name Kusadasi comes from the fortress built in Güvercinada, which has an important military base for the Byzantines.

It is not known who the city of Kusadasi was founded by. However, it is believed to be founded by the Ionians according to the ruins found. The city was established in the old town of Andızkulesi. It has also hosted many different civilizations. Kusadasi is one of the main ports opening to the Mediterranean in ancient times. 

Kusadasi is Turkey's one of the first tourist destinations and dates back to the 1960's. The first cruising tourism started here. Especially in the summer, the number of local and foreign tourists is up to 2 million. It is 65 km away from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport. Port of Kusadasi is Turkey's largest port. Also , Dilek Peninsula National Park, which is among the Kusadasi boundaries, is one of its important points. In addition, the congress hall held in 2013 is also the largest in Europe and testifies to many fairs.
